Afsaneh and Ambassador Tai discussed the role of trade policy in the global economy, current U.S. trade strategy, the Biden Administration’s trade agenda for 2023, and building a more resilient trade system.
Echoing President Biden’s statement that good climate policy is good economic policy, Ambassador Tai discussed the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, which was crafted to tackle individual and collective challenges such as supply chain breakdowns, the digital transformation of economies, and the climate crisis. “Building for resilience means facilitating a race to the top,” Ambassador Tai said.
